Great shot!

Are you able to brighten up the image at all? - Perhaps increasing the saturation. It may improve the dramaticism - Or it might spoil the winter mood?

I've had a rough go in photoshop (hoping that you wouldn't mind).

What do you think?

has great potential, suggest you straighten it out a little, bring out the drivers face, crop tighter.

Nicholas, Ben, thanks for the suggestions. It always seems that after I download my pictures they seem a little darker than the original. Maybe that is something I need to compensate for. And embarrassingly enough, I don't even own PhotoShop. I do agree that it need a little more impact somehow. As far as straightening it out, I might try that but it may look a little bit strange. They are coming up a hill and with the drivers head down and the dogs looking tired, might that take away from the impression of steepness and effort?

thanks matthew, consider getting photoshop le or something that enables you to play with the pics a little -- its great fun! playing a bit with the photos, cropping, altering the tones, has taught me a lot. regardless, this is an interesting pic.

matthew, welcome to the club! i remember the indecipherable maze when i first started using it. try luminous-landscapes.com for good, easy to understand tips. in the meantime, learn what's under adjust in image, and learn usm in filter. then try to figure out layers. here's your photo reduced in size using image size in image menu.

feel free to email me if you have questions. bnsfr@aol.com. my kids don't want to hear about photoshop very much and the dogs don't understand usm at all, so it gets lonely over here.

Hi Matthew

I agree with Ben. Your new version has much more impact. Well done for getting photoshop, you will not regret it!
