Shot taken in the morning during a very beautiful snow shower with

large snow flake and little wind.

Very nice picture depicting winter mood. I like the composition as well. Why Gaetan, there are reddish grain in the photo, maybe the white balance? Also the bright grean in the foreground I think is brighter than overal tone of the photo, no?

Thank for your informative comment. White balance was automatic and it is a very difficult to capture this kind of light. I give a little saturation to the photo, do you think it is too much?

Like you know quite well Gaetan, Photographing snow scenes is a very tricky business. Here we have about 18% gray in the photo which is the result of auto exposure. It usually under exposes snow by 1 EV. In manual exposure we would probably have to over expose by that amount. This will give the snow the right exposure and helps brighten up the colors as well.

using selective color in PS will give a much better result. It will not leave colorful grains in the rest of the photo. You can also do it through the use of channels. In this case, your channel levels were down, probably by 18%

The attached version is with the gray taken out. It might look a bit bright but again, in a snowy day I prefer wearing sunglasses! If you find it too bright, you may add more gray, but this is really the right exposure.

I am not accustomed to see so much snow, it is usually necessary to move to the Pyrenees to be able to see it, to our bench marks it doesn't usually snow.

Your winter photos are very interesting. This one is a treasure because of the building and the snow falling. Nice city scape. Too bad about the green thing though. I like the capture with the people in the foreground.. that adds more interest.
