Marvin 4 Posted February 26, 2005 This was a quick snap taken at the cat food exhibit at thePhiladelphia Home & Garden Show. Hand held ISO 800 Link to comment
amorteguy 0 Posted February 26, 2005 This product shot needs less product and more consumer (cat). The cat needs to be lit better; show off the eyes and fur. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 27, 2005 I disagree. There is no such thing as a bad shot of a cat. If this is for a commercial advertisement, it's just right. Link to comment
amorteguy 0 Posted February 27, 2005 Talbert, I never said this was a bad shot of a cat. In fact, I think I said the opposite. "Less product, more cat." My point in detail is this; you don't need to show every can and box to get the idea of selling the product. The cat is the most important feature. You are selling cat food to cat people. They will want to see more of the cat also. Better lighting (I know that the photographer had no choice here, that's OK) would make the fur shimmer and a catch light would make the eyes sparkle. That's all. Oh, and if you want reaction... bring in the dogs. Link to comment
Marvin 4 Posted February 28, 2005 It's true that more of the cat would have been better but the way that the cat food boxes were lined up it seemed that it would be cutting them (the boxes) off awkwardly - so I took the whole display. It is a pretty cat though. Link to comment
