Miner's Castle II

WJT

I used a tripod and stopped the lens down probably to about f16. I do not remember the shutter speed on this one. It was taken about mid-morning. Adjusted in Ektaspace using Photoshop CS.

This is a rework of a previously submitted photograph. I am making a

16x20 Giclee print of this on an Epson 9600. I added about a quarter

inch to the top (by cloning the incoming fog bank) to make it an even

size.

Thanks Paul. I thought this would be a good test for the Epson 9600. From what I have read, the color gamut in this photograph would be what the 9600 excels at (in contrast to a Chromira, for example). Regards.

I remember this one, Walter. I loved the clearness of the water and the way it seems to meld with the sky. Nice work!

I love the upper half of the image. It's mystical, with great colors and shapes. However, the bottom part is completely spoiling it for me. I especially don't like the bank there, as it has no colors or interesting objects. I am not trying to spoil the party, just give my honest opinion.

The use of polarizer here is perfect. Even cut the image in the middle, it's still 2 beautiful images. Love the contrast between the bank and the sea. BTW, This is my favorite.

Really a beautifull one, I like the sea transforming to the sky, and particularly the clarity of the sea and the shore-curve... Jiri

I like this photo a lot. However, I don't know why you're uploading it again, since it received tons of ratings and comments when you loaded it the first time.

You have found a great use for the Clone Tool (even better than the work done on my Cottonwoods, which I did not mind at all).

I love the details under the water surface and the curve is great too.

Thanks for the tip on "expanding" an image to full frame with Cloning--although I suspect it will be limited to images with even horizon lines, skies, or seas....

Well, I originally just wanted to examine both of them side by side; I was not going to ask for a critique on this one at all. In fact, I was going to delete it. But it is quite a bit different from the first one. Granted, the differences are primarily in how I edited it. But I think it is somewhat better. So, because of the initial responses, I think that I am going to keep this one posted and just provide a link to the original for comparison.

I am sorry if I seem to be a bit of a hog. I suppose what I should have done was post this as an attachment to the previous original. But I would have had to use a much smaller file size if I had done that. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Regards.

Works for me. Convincing clone job since I wouldn't have notice it if you didn't mention. I'd love to hear your elaboration on how the 9600 works out for you at the end. We've been looking for a new large format printer for the office ourselves.
