paula grenside 0 Posted February 26, 2005 seems as if the butterfly is going to fly away out of the frame. Excellent macro. Link to comment

afterthoughts 0 Posted February 26, 2005 Very high quality image reflecting the beauty of nature. I like the balance between the butterfly and the flower. I wonder why we call them butterflys? Do they like butter? Strange name if you think about it. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 27, 2005 Howard because they are diurnal and an order of Lepidoptera best explains it. Ken thanks for lookin at my pics. The comp here is certainly "in your face"...quite bold and dof effect is very complimentary. Very good. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 27, 2005 I love the colors in the wings and the flower petals ... they go well together, and you've captured the tonal differences well! The only nit pick I'd have (and this is a TOTAL nit pick!!) is that you snipped off the tips of the bottom petals of the flower. My eye wishes that the entire flower were contained in the frame. rayfraser 0 Posted March 10, 2005 A very fine photo (6,6). I'll need to repeat a complaint about butterfly photos that I insinuated on RE's Tiger Swallowtail. The topside of butterfly wings is more beautiful than underside. I hope to eventually capture a 4th UV color (as butterflies see themselves) of many in open wing glides. Link to comment
