Part of my orchid studies. I've been hunting down orchids with interesting blooms

and arcing lines of the stalks, and blending with pots. This one came together for me.

You have a wonderful portfolio, I wanted to comment one of your photos, but wasn't so sure which, So, I think I'll comment some more later. ^_^

I really like this one of this flower...I'm not sure why, maybe the color?

but I just wanted to say thank you for your comment, and I'm glad you enjoy my folder called "Objects and Things"

Hey Marla - this was my favorite orchid I shot in this phase of my life. The shots were done on 4x5 slide film - somewhere around here (?) I have a 40" x 50" Fujicolor print off a Lightjet printer of this image. The detail is intense.

The reason I like this best is the graceful lines of the stems supporting the flowers - the one blooming and swooping the other a more vertical graceful curve. I spent hours in an orchid store over a few weeks looking at the flowers as they came in and matching them to pots (this one chosen to emphasize the vertical composition and echo the graceful curves).

I loved the color and shape of the leaves also.

Come to think of it - I can use that print for something - I wonder where I put it?
