Cadilac Mountain Rocks at Sunrise

Magic light at sunrise makes the rocks and lichen glow. Comments are

welcome.

Reminds me of being there, that's for sure. Have to love this place.

 

It also reminds me of an irate lady who had read the sign not to tread on the plantlife so as to create erosion. She was wandering around occasionally grumbling at each of the photographers who were on rocks like these. One photographer near me made the mistake to explain politely that he was being careful not to step near any plantlife (as all of us were also doing). She yelled and swore at him in a vicious tone as a bunch of children walked by. Kind of ruined everyone's night...

 

That's when I decided to spend the rest of the trip hiking to the top of some of the other mountains without people :o)

 

Still, there's something special about Cadillac that the others don't have--elevation, clear view of the ocean, more wind, more of a wild feeling...

And cold, even for a hearty New Englander, I was surprised how cold it was up there at sunrise.

Yep incredibly cold--even in October I remember my eyes watering, probably as much as they do here in Michigan during a January storm.
