Hi sam... you have had a nice idea and probably you can improve it a lot... first i would process the image in photoshop to make it darker in the high lights and a little brighter in the dark shadows. Also i see the mooving foliage on the right tree. this could be cutted to have a more square frame and a less intrusive foreground. On the other side a little crop on the left is required to eliminate some light spots. i would leave the trees in the center exposed as they are as they catch the attention.
