krash 0 Posted February 16, 2005 First off, my girlfriend is into blood play, this is her fetish, I am not promoting violence to women...never, never, never would I do such a thing to a woman or anyone else. I was doing a shoot for my friends CD cover and it involved some blood play and Amber was dying to do some poses, well I was dying to have her pose as well. This was our VD photo, it was done in good fun, if it is not your cup of tea, just please move on to something else, it was not done to offend you, it was done for our enjoyment....with that, Critique Away! damien_michelin 0 Posted February 16, 2005 You are right, Blood is not my cup of tea and never will be. Hope the cleaning lady got well paid. It is amazing to see that some people enjoy bloodplay, pretending to be cut and dead when at the same time the whole world is facing the horror of war and death on a daily basis AND I am sure it is not a game for those left behind. That being said... your picture is very well done for what is is... (7/7) Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted February 16, 2005 This is one of these photos where the drama of the picture will grab more attention than the picture itself. I am really not sure what position people would be in after having this done to them but I am guessing that it would not be this position. Also, she seems to be smiling which would tie in with the model's fetish. However that does take away the sense of drama. Well done.... Link to comment
outrageousphoto 0 Posted February 16, 2005 I've seen work like this before, but this one is truely one of the better ones. I like the expresion on her face. It's a peacefull look, not a look of horror that you would expect a "victim" to have. 6/6! Link to comment
krash 0 Posted February 16, 2005 to those of you that had the decency to either pass up something that is not your cup of tea or like Damien Michelin were able to look past something they knew was not for them and see the image, agian I thank you Link to comment
lissahatcher 0 Posted February 16, 2005 Her face is to sweet throws the photo off for me a bit....crazy imagery though...A trip to the dark side. Link to comment
joemoree 0 Posted February 17, 2005 I really like this image,I enjoy the "different" shots and artwork and this certaintly falls into that category.I am a big horror movie buff and it reminds me of many scenes I have seen.Great job Link to comment
krash 0 Posted February 18, 2005 Art is subjective, if you do not like what you see, pass it by, do not put down things that do not interest you in the first place, this makes you a coward, someone who lacks the courage to simply let others enjoy what they enjoy. Link to comment
andys 0 Posted February 20, 2005 Not Entirely sure that this is my cup of tea, but it is a stunning image. The contrast of the red and the pale is just about perfect, with all of the large blank ares broken up with "blood". 6/6 - would have been 7/7 but just little bit too disturbing fir me fo r that. damien_michelin 0 Posted February 22, 2005 John, It's Damien again. Eventhough this picture is not my cup of tea I keep coming back to it !!! I find the lower part of her body (the right part of the picture) a little bit strange. Is she missing a leg? Is she a mermaid? There is something weird about how her leg look... something is missing. Link to comment
krash 0 Posted February 22, 2005 it's the size and the blown out skin tone, you can see both legs but it's very hard to see here. If this would have been a truly planned shoot and not a spur of the moment, hey Amber get in the tub thing it would have been much better technically. If I were to really rate the image myself and tear it apart, I would probably only give it a 5/5 or maybe a 5/6. I wish we could truly reply to comments here :), Thank you for asking questions. To the others, if you are going to give this image a 1/1 or even a 2/1 because you do not like the subject, at least have the balls to stand up for your rating and make a comment. Link to comment
gudermane 0 Posted March 1, 2005 Fetish of you own blood? Never knew this exists.. Is that possible to have so much blood? (First I thought it was artificial, and wanted to ask you to share the secret of verysimilitude)...The title is perfect..The photo..hmm..makes you go inside your inner hell... Link to comment
krash 0 Posted March 1, 2005 it was two bottles of fake blood. Their is a huge fetish concerning blood play and my girlfriend (the model) is very much into this, she was actually enjoying herself very much during this shoot, you can see a smile on her face in this shot. Link to comment
gudermane 0 Posted March 1, 2005 The blood looks very real and I would be very grateful, if you could share how you managed to make it look so. I need blood for my present shootings but each time it looks too artificial. Thank you. Link to comment
krash 0 Posted March 2, 2005 Most of it was lighting, stark light really helps, also proper curves adjustment in Photoshop will help bring out the right color. I will find out what brand we used if you want to email me @ johnw@insomniacstudios.net and I will let you know what kind it was. There is also some great ways to make your own blood with water, Karo syrup, food coloring and milk or condensed milk to make it more opaque. Lots of recipes on the web, just do a google search. Also the drier the stuff we had got , the better it looked. Link to comment
gudermane 0 Posted March 2, 2005 John, thank you very much. Now I see what direction I should take and what I should try, and I will do a web search for this as well. Link to comment
plasmatic 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Reminds me of some of Guy Bordin's work. Excellent 7/7 Link to comment
grainscan 2 Posted March 26, 2005 and good realization. I have always problems to call such pictures (or movies) "good", but it is a good work and is telling an - even bad - story very well. regards, Gregor Link to comment
Todd Kowalski 2 Posted March 26, 2005 Hey John, I must say that this is not my cup o tea eather, however I agree with you whole heartedly about those who rate low, or otherwise bemoan an image without any explanation. To those that do so.....just move on and leave your petty tracks someplace else. Link to comment
