kslonaker 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I feel like I'm thrown back in time with this composition. I'm wondering if you changed the sky - there seems to be an "edge" around it. Interesting place! Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Kim, the resolution is not very good with the Sony F505V 3.5 megapixel camera and I touched it up a bit. Notice the bright walls at the background which is lighted up by the sky. The foreground was quite dark and I used the shadow/highlight to lighten it up. Would have been better with a DSLR. atkphotoworks 0 Posted February 13, 2005 There seems to be an interesting effect happening in this image. Nice composition. Looking forward to visiting Angkor one day. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Just wondering - this would not be the same without that intense sky, imo. If it had been a bland sky the day you shot it, then it would make sense to put a more dramatic sky in the scene because it really enhances the overall effect. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Thanks Amar, Kim. I wish I had bought the Nikon DSLR earlier. It will have definitely made a difference to the resolution. Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted February 14, 2005 Well done image. Orange and orange. Was the sky done after? Interesting lighting. Link to comment

alan chan 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Very dramatic lighting in the sky that balance off the monk's dress. I am thinking whether i would prefer the monk walking the opposite direction ? Not sure about that Alec, nice setting overall ! Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted February 17, 2005 Alec, I thought you will lug your DSLR everywhere wtih you, esp when you are travelling. ANyway, this image has got superb composition & colour contrast. A winner, I'll say. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 19, 2005 I'm with Howard et al. on this one 7/7 for this image. It has a genuine sureal aura to it. I don't care what manipulation was required, the outcome is real - and is excellent to view. The contrast of orange/red on grey/black is a joy. You may feel cheated by you own image here Alec, it's a gem. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 21, 2005 Thanks guys, you're swell, I really have to go back with a good DSLR and do this place justice. I highly recommend anyone to visit Angkor for one of the best place to shoot. Link to comment
