alecee 0 Posted February 12, 2005 A visit to Singapore by my niece from Australia. Hillary always has a liking for strange pets like a blue tongue gecko she keeps back home. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Great lighting and color. If I could change a few things, I would have her eyes more visible and wait for the snake's head to be more at an angle from his body. I'd also like her arm not to be cut off at the elbow. That said, I'd still be happy to have this one in my portfolio. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Rashid thanks for your comments. Kim, I do have 2 more shots one without the snakecharmer's hat and the other with her eyes looking at the camera. Both I consider snapshots and the original was posted as it reflects a more natural capture. Still, it shows that a simple snapshot can also be creatively done if one puts in a little effort in the composition. ^_^ Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted February 13, 2005 Alec,I like this image for composition, light, & colours. Where was this taken in Singapore? In Zoo or Night Safari Park? Best regards. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Sircar, this was taken at the cable car arrival station in Sentosa, thanks for coming by. Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I really like it, Alex. I'll try that someday. Have you tried shots without a PL filter? Or did you change the colors in PS? Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Ray. It was quite bright during our visit and I used the polarising filter to get rid of glare. No I didn't change the colors except some slight adjustment in contrast and brightness. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted February 18, 2005 The original shot is far more interesting in the candid way she's looking at the snake. At any rate, should the snake-charmer's hat be too much of a nuisance, you could always decide to crop this much tighter: after all, the eyes are what you are after, and they will not suffer from a tight cropping at the forehead. Cropped or not, there is something nice, that is a strong diagonal along which all elements are: the "jewel" on the hat, her nose and therefore the direction of the glance, the snake's head, the thumb which closes the diagonal.
