joemoree 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Great shot nice colors and composition...maybe a closer angle to the fence? Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted February 12, 2005 I like the shot as it is. A closer angle and a vertical format might have worked as well but probably not much in it (and PN favours landscape format. Great colours, light and shadows. Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted February 12, 2005 Hi Regina I have always loved the color of the hay when it drys . The fence posts and their shadows remind me of a backbone. Nice job. I really like rural shots and you make them so interesting. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Thanks Colin and Leann for visiting and being supportive. This shot was cropped from the full version above. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I have this version which was cropped and I cloned out the trunks of the trees in the back which took some time. Let me know what you think. The shadows look kind of weird to me. Should they be cloned as well or what? Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted February 13, 2005 The tree shadows in the cloned out version look like burns on the ground. I like the posted more myself because I like to wonder how far the fence line goes. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted February 14, 2005 Regina, I was just walking past a field of broom sedge today and thinking how nice winters can be down South. Everything is already greening up here and the daffodils are out. So many shots to make while the land still has this clean look. . . . As for this shot, well, it is just about perfect. I would probably desat about 4%--just my preference, or maybe just my monitor--but otherwise the composition and content are exactly the kind of thing I look for in a rural shot. The simplicity and the great lines really work for me. This is my kind of country. Nice to have a good dog to run ahead and flush up some partridges, but not to shoot them with a shotgun--just to watch them roar off. The full shot with the trees is also very nice and worth a separate post, in my opinion. Link to comment
