rob_mccool 0 Posted August 6, 2001 I took this picture at the border. His parents were just ahead, but I left them out to make the picture stronger- pitching him against the environment, but I would still like to make it stronger. What would you suggest? Link to comment

(so does my wife) i think it would be much stronger with more depth of field. more specifically, if you could make out the fence (barbwire??) in the back. the info would add to the picture alot. as it stands i think the composition and color are nice. the boy looks back; to what or whom we don't know. it's a good question that doesn't get answered. nice job andre Link to comment
jennybrown 0 Posted August 7, 2001 It's the environment that would really make this picture. Definitely increase depth of field, do whatever you have to, to get the child and the fence in focus. Also, consider using a haze filter or polarizer or somesuch to get a lot more detail in the distant trees and sky. Give us a sense of place (which is missing from this pic). Link to comment
