markboyer 0 Posted February 7, 2005 I posted this and then decided I needed to fix a pixel or two. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks to Kim and Laurie who commented earlier. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Now that is cool! Very clever! The choice of Jell-O over PS makes it that much better. Not that I have anything against PS whatsoever but Jell-O...great! Link to comment
wheely 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Interesting shot! I like the way the colour appears in in the foot of the glasses. I think I'd have liked a bit more light to really bring out the colours but I like this shot. Link to comment
etan_lightstone 0 Posted February 7, 2005 Everything is neat about this shot except the lighting. It really helps to use a lightsource directly behind your glasses, to give that glow to the liquid. It might be difficult if it's jellow :) Also the ripples of the background sheet are a little distracting. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted February 8, 2005 Worth exploring this further with various lighting and so on, Mark, if only you liked jello! Link to comment
actuallynoname 0 Posted February 12, 2005 6/6 very good composition. I would have preferred a perfect simmetry... but your choice is nice too Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Nice thought Mark. The reflection off the green glass on the BG and the difference in jello level from the right glass to the left are the only issues I have with this shot. Get the red and green even and try reshooting it. I know, a pain, but in shots like this symmetry is almost required. Nice glasses by the way. Real sexy... Link to comment
laurent.lp 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Very original work, i like your pictures on glaces. But sometime the light is not good as the composition need it. Excuse me for my english. But your portfolio are different and that the most important. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Dave: Thanks for the feedback; I really appreciate it. You're the master in this area, and I'm a beginner. I wanted the assymetrical look, but in hindsight you're undoubtedly right. I will try again when I have the energy to make all that Jello-O and when I finish a few more experiments to see if I can light these better.Loic: Thanks for the nice comments. I'm aware of the lighting issue. I'm a beginner and I'm trying to figure out how to light these using what tools I have around the housed and without spending a lot of money on true photo lights. Alas. Link to comment
