Canada Dry

You obviously figured out how to shoot wide open to blur the background. Now you need to work on composition. Start with vertical crop and try using fill flash to reduce the contrast between the shadows and the highlights.

 

I like that Canada Dry too.

took with my 35mm camera.

Great shot! I think it proves that sometimes, especially with "people pics", nothing is as important as the subject! Forget composition, lighting and any other technical aspects... the magic of youth is well captured in this image. Perhaps the "fountain of youth" is in a can of canada dry?

Way back in 1975 huh? I think this is excellent for one of your first pictures! I see from your other photographs you have indeed learned all about composition and fill flash.
