What did you use for lighting

 

It was the sunlight shining through the window with a curtain during an evening. I took this picture near the wall in front of this window.

The first interpretation that comes into my mind is about compromises we make - between either sharp and and full but flat, or bright and grave but not complete and blurry. I like the idea and execution, too, and maybe if you crop out the empty right-hand part to make a square picture, it will be a bit more compositionally pleasing.

Nadya, thank you for your note on my magnolia photo. you have many beautiful images in your portfolio. i especially like this one. i also like the square crop, but then i crop almost everything square.
