nicholasprice 0 Posted February 5, 2005 Great action shot, but your rider is a little over-exposed. Have you considered dodging or burning the image? If not, you should have a go, as I suspect that with time you would be able to correct much of the problem, and I think the image is well worth the effort! Link to comment
Wayne Melia 5,997 Posted February 5, 2005 Nicholas: Yeah, I know the rider's shirt is blown out, and I wish weren't, but such is life. Unfortunately, it's too far gone in the negative for recovery. I tried adjusting analogue gain in the Nikon scanner software, but that makes wierd colour shifts with negative film. (However given that it's destined for b&w, maybe a rescan is in order.) As it is, I had to (selectively) lift the shadow areas of the figure at the head of the horse a lot to recover detail. Such is life in the contrasty world of rodeo.
