Here's another image from the Poor Peoples Campaign in June of 1968

in Washington, DC. This fellow was one of hundreds of sit-in

demonstrators arrested during the campaign's two-week effort to

bring to the attention of political leaders the plight of the

nation's impoverished. The campaign was organized by Dr. Martin

Luther King and his Southern Christian Leadership Conference in the

months before the civil rights leader's assassination. The protest

became a kind of memorial to Rev. King's leadership. I'll be posting

a half-dozen photos of the activities and the plywood encampment,

called Resurrection City, in which the participants lived. Your
