It's been a long walk about 2 miles uphill to reach this beautiful

place from our car. To do justice to this beautiful sight I have made

a panorama of 4 images (portrait size) to blend into this. Did I

succeed?

I'd say you certainly succeeded! Agreed with above comment - only improvement would be to have made second ecccxposures of the sky to reduce cloud burnout...looks like the Shadow/Highlight tool was used. Still a keeper!

Alec, this is something stunning I have never seen before. Great the photo, and lucky you to be close to such surroundings. I wonder whether you could do without the sky.

Thanks guys for your positive comments. Makes it all worthwhile to lug up the gear and walk to this point. It was actually stifling hot - about 37C and I'm surprised that sky was not burnt out even more. I have now adjusted it a little.

If you ever go there try to walk to the edge if you dare. There's no barrier and I'm sure some daredevil paraglider did some jumps there. Look at the 2 tiny specks on the right in the river stream. It's the size of a 40 feet cruiser, that's how big this place is. Totally awesome!

You did a great job stitching the images together - but I *think* you might be tilted a bit to the left. I'm a bad judge of such things though. The clouds are definitely blown a bit, but it's the emerald green that catches the eye - terrific color! I think you also convey the sheer size quite well - it's a stunning place, and I want to get back there again after seeing this :) Well done!

This is a very well-done pan, Alec. The two miles is a long trip - glad you made the trek in the winter and avoided the summer heat. Thanks for sharing it with us. Best regards.

Alec, what's up with that sky. Did you trek all that way and forget your grad?

Unfortunately, points deducted for that, the glare on the water and perhaps a little more foreground would benefit things?

Good stitching.

magic! (after being able to escape from the addicting green circle and reading the above I agree about the sky-colour and about wishing a tiny bit more foreground)magic!

Hard to be original with a well known landmark like Horsehoe Bend, but I think you succeeded. Good stitching job. Well done. BTW, only 37C? You were lucky to get there before it got hot.

Certain shots are worth the effort to lug up your gear, even in terribly hot weather. This is one of them. Its the mountains surrounding the green that caught my eye. Well done, Alec.

Did you enhance or alter the color of the water or does it appear this green? What an amazing color for a river running through a desert landscape.

Thanks guys for the positive critique. No Milton, the green colors are au natural. Just to show you the scale of the place take a look at this close up of 2 cruisers at the right of the main image along the bend. Awesome! And the air and wind up here is sooo cool!
