I guess this is more of a portrait but since the model is wearing my shirt, I thought I would show that I can be fashionable!

The contrast that I was trying to capture was that of the beauty of the girl against the ugliness of the wall.

I talk too much..... Feedback appreciated!

P.S. The model looks better in this shirt than I do!

David, This is really an interesting shot. Your title works for me because, at least to my eye, this photo is more about the graffiti than the model. Her presence adds interest and scale but there's a part of me that wants her to move aside so I can see more of the wall. I'm not sure if this was your intention. I suspect it might have been since the model is looking down with her eyes obscured, not engaging the viewer. The visual play or tug of war between her and the wall is something I could never pre-conceive. The wall itself has a Miro quality about it. I also like the color combination of the green wall, your blue shirt and the little red accent.

Nice shirt. I'm sure it looks good on you as well!

The model is truly beautiful and I have no doubt that she looks better in the shirt than you do.

I think the repetition of the round shape of her hat and the painting on the wall works well indeed. I truly hope this is not the only image you have of her.

We both talk too much but that is one of our better habits. 6/5

Laurie, I will send this link to the model and see if she agrees with you. Actually this girl is very interested in photography. I have encouraged her to join P.N. I am sure if she joins, she will seek unrelenting revenge on you! (I jest!)

The blue and the green are what makes this shot for me. I didn't mention it, in the hope that someone would notice it too.... it didn't take you long.

Graffiti is not something you see a lot of in Hong Kong.

Owen, You didn't have to agree with me. You will be pleased to know, that I have one or two other shots of this girl. No doubt I will upload them sometime!

I almost always agree with you, especially regarding beer.

PS. My son will not be near Hong Kong and regrets not getting the chance to meet you. He is a fan of your work and a monumental beer drinker.

I am off to Carmel in the morning and will be back in a few days.

David, I meant no offense to the model. I don't think I expressed my thoughts well in my original post (writing has never been my strength). My point was that her presence creates a tension. It's that tension that makes this such a unique image. Although I want her to move so I can see what's behind her on the wall. Without her in the photo, it would just be...well...a green wall with grafitti. Perhaps it's just my curious nature to want to see what I'm not supposed to see. Hmmm..I'm not sure I've made sense this time either.

Oh well, should she begin posting here on PN, let her know she's free to seek revenge. I can take it. Perhaps you'll be kind enough to model for her!

Owen, I assume you are away on a photoshoot. I hope you will upload them.... here or elsewhere. If you post them elsewhere, be sure to send me the links.

It is a pity that your son will not be in Hong Kong.

Laurie, I was just teasing you. As for me posing for this girl..... I think not, I don't think photos of me, would provide her with the encouragement she would want!

That`s that kind of amateur shot I like photonet for. Well, much has been said about it above.

My first thought was, if she has something to do with tagging. That model works well with the texture of the wall. Good job David, once again.

P.S. I`m wondering who looks better without the shirt?!

David, I almost didn't recognize this as one of yours. The model isn't Oriental, she's not nude, there is no beer and it's not tilted! All kidding aside, great shot. The colors, the model, it all works. Kudos. (BTW Kudos is an Australian beer, isn't it?)

Edgar, Thanks.... I think. It is a simple shot. The model liked it and that is the most important thing. I have to be honest and say I don't understand your reference to 'tagging.'

Owl, Sometimes, I come up with little surprises. The girl is Asian albeit Austalasian, but not one of the indigenous sort you understand..... probably descended from a convict. As for the tilt, I do have a picture with a tilt and I will be uploading it later. I am afraid to say, this model and beer don't go.... not photographically at least..... not yet anyway!

David, my fault. Got it now. Sorry I misunderstood, but after all I speak American, not English ;-)

Good pose, composition, and choice of model. Tsing Tao or Fosters, it doesn't matter. Just pour me one . . . gulp, gulp, gulp . . . ^_^

Definitely Fosters. Although, perhaps Tennents as she tells me she is descended from Scottish pig farmers. Poor wee lassie.

Thanks for looking!
