This image is less about the Egret and more about the environment

that he thrives within. This egret was feeding among these very

large Bald Cypress trees in Lake Martin, Louisiana. Low water has

exposed the buttresses of these century old trees.

You did a very good job capturing the environment.

Lightning and mood is great. and the precise size of the bird in the frame underlines that. Well done!

I love the way you captured the bird in its natural environment - the image tells a story. Also light and composition was very good.

I was born and raised in lafayette. Love lake martin. Used to go with my parents to a camp there as a child while they would play cards all night. dansimages@yahoo.com (live in tennessee now)

renoir or monet could not have created a painting as beautiful as this picture....

The colors...the composition..the egret...and it's reflection made this into a painting like setting.

Beautiful.

Funny. A few weeks ago I was in Louisiana for a couple of days and brought my camera. I was looking for a picture like yours and didn't find it. Yours is beautiful.

Makes me homesick for Louisiana. Hope you fared OK in the storm. This is a very beautiful shot, and agree that it's refreshing to see the bird in its natural landscape.
