I am struck by the essential sensuality of orchids. Not sure a web image does justice to

the depth of black and the fine texture on the blooms.

I like the picture. Just think the vase should have received more light and the blossoms less. But that is personal.

I tried shooting potted orchids the other day, and of almost 50 shots (with my new digital toy) none came out the least bit useful. In my eyes it's really difficult to catch their beauty in just the right way. And therefore I think I can appreciate the mind and skill behind this shot...
