This is an unconstrained portrait I've made of my granddaughter with

my new camera which I've got as a birthdaypresent from my husband.

I'm very enthusiast and amazed about the high quality pictures I can

make with my Rebel. From now on, I will only have much more fun in

taking pictures!

I appreciate your comments!

Congratulations with the new camera and, I guess, happy birthday! :) Lively portrait, nice expression!

PS: (After a closer look and comparison with umpteenth Sony picture) Hey, where have the freckles gone? Is it because of the light, or because of winter or because of the new lens? :(

I like it you are so quick with your nice comment. My birthday is next saturday, the 29. My husband couldn't wait to give me the present and I don't care. Wow man, I'm so happy with this thing. It's a real good camera.

If you like to come to my party Andrey, you are invited! Pity you live so far away from here ;~((

If you look very. very good, take your magnifying glass, then you discover some little ones up and around her nose. But the whole flood comes when the summersun starts to shine. I can give you the provement about a couple of months, ok?

Greetings, your misses Crop.

Thank you for invitation, Ada, I think I will miss the party this time. :) As for Rebel - as far as I know it's a great device (there are so many jewels on PN made with it!), I hope my plans to get myself that one some happy day will come true. Looking forward to your new Rebel pics!

It is a photo of a total plasticity; it has such a brightness that seems to be completely real. A great technical ostentation. Congratulation

Nice Spontaneous pic Ada, from Flore.

Fantastic color and contrast with such backlight.

What light did you use at the front for making such clear picture and did you mask something on her skin?

Well, you did a good job here and I can't wait for new work with your new rebel.

You deserve it!

Thanks for sharing,

Wim.

Andrey, I really hope your dreams will come true one day!;~)

Thanks Miguez for your enthusiatic comment. It is so nice to hear that my camera seems to work well.

Wim, your advice to Rob to buy me the Canon Rebel was the best you could give him. Through my temporary handproblem I can not try the camera out in a way I should like to do. But The results of some shots I took with the Rebel are amazing.

I did not use any other light than daylight. And that was the reason the picture was too dark a little bit, so I brighten it up in PS 'curves'.

Some pieces of the skin became too bright, I've selected those parts and used 'selective colours' to become an acceptable result. That was it. You know I'm not such a genius in working with PS. Maybe I had to do the job in an other and more easy way but.....

In the future I will place my model in the light and not like this way. But as I said, it was a complete spontanious shot, so this kind of stupidities happen.

Yes, you have to 'watch' out Rod, but thanks for being here;~)

Beautiful child with a lovely smile..... care free. We all miss this really. This is the most enjoyable time of our lives but we realise this when we are old... lol.

I hope you are enjoying your new camera.

Kind regards.

Stunning and natural. What a great candid Ada. Those eyes and that smile would melt the north Pole. You have done very well getting started with your new Canon. With this as a first example, it's going to be very exciting to see what you can pull out if it. Best wishes to You and Yours! Cheers Nova :)

You are right Zafar, time fly. When I look to the old shots when I was as old as my granddaughter now, it seems like it was yesterday. Camera's changed but happenly children are still the same. Spontanious, innocent and, depending of their situation, happy. I wish all the children all over the world could be happy and healthy. But I'm afraid that will stay an unfulfilled dream.

Hi Michael, thank you for your comment. Yes, Flore is a very happy girl and a great model and she never turns her head away of my camera. Lucky me! My grandson is not so willing. If he see me with (and, sometimes without) my camera, he dives under the table... (a real boy);~)

Hi Nova, I was waiting for your comment. I'm very happy with your enthusiastic reaction on this shot. Each time I zoom in on a detail of the Canon pictures I'm amazed about the quality of the pictures this camera provides. It is a real treat to work with it! I still have some problems with my hand, caused through a little operation I have had (triggerthumb), so I can't drive my car at the moment. Otherwise I should go to the wood now and take many shots there. We do have a wood nearby our house, but that's such a wood where people goes for a quick walk with their dogs...white snow will be now yellow there. It has snowed tonight here, so it must be beautiful now with all those white trees. I hope to be able to go the next week. The weather report promise more snow (have you send it eastwards to us, Nova? Well thank you so much!) (LOL).....

But than I have to ask Flore not to smile in such a touching way because otherwise that whole wunderful white world will be melt.;~))

Dear Cherlyn, thank you for the compliment you give me and my granddaughter.

Thank you Pnina for your nice comment and birthday congratulations. Now I have the same camera you have, I hope to become a same great photographer as you are;-)))

Hi Todd, thank you too for your congratulations. I'm very satisfied with the camera as it is now, but what concerns the accessories you talk about, I'm still thinking about a wide-angle lens. But that's for later. I have to save money for that or I have to wait for 2006, the year in which I hope to reach the age of 84 (LOL).

Collin, I really like it that you appreciate the quality of this portrait. And all and above that you like my granddaughters smile:)

Hi Jovan, thank you for your congratulations and best wishes. I'm proud you like the picture I've made of my irristible granddaugter:~).

Dear Wilson, nice you drop in. You are right, time is running. But lucky, we are in the circumstances to catch the time in our pictures:-))

Thank you Alix. I don't know what to say, all those compliments. But I have to agree. My granddaughter is a sweetheart or as we say in Holland: 'een meid om op te vreten'. I can't find a good English translation for this proverb. Something as 'a girl so nice that you should like to eat her with your eyes'.

People say that she looks like me. I only have light brown eyes. When I see pictures of myself at the same age Flore has now (9) then I see the likeness. But Flore is much more pretty of course!;-))

Hi Amelie,I'm really happy you are here! I wish it could be possible to invite all our friends of PN here in my house the coming saturday. Wow, what a great party that should be! But alas:((

BTW, you like aquarians. I'm not a full one. My ascendant is libra. So I'm a very sensitive goof(LOL). I'm curious to your sign of the zodiac. You are so creative and amiable that I think you probably are a libra or a saggitarius. Gemini, is possible too.

But you are certainly not a Scorpio, I'm sure about that.

Please, let me know, I'm very interested in this subject.:-!
