lightwriting by swapan 0 Posted January 22, 2005 For some reason, my 8 yrs old daughter was unhappy when I asked her to be a model for me ! I think her expression showed this ! I know there is nothing special, the light is flat and frontal but this is just what this is.. a portrait of my lovely little daughter ! Your comments are welcome Link to comment
jmcconnell2 0 Posted January 22, 2005 I think she SHOULD be a model, beautiful shot, the light is great! 6/6 Link to comment

sundaram_venkatachalam1 0 Posted January 22, 2005 Cute kid. I think you could have sharpened a little bit more. You could have used a different aperture to make sure that the leaves in the foreground are in focus. Link to comment
lightwriting by swapan 0 Posted January 23, 2005 Sundaram, The leaves were made out of focus on purpose, to draw attention to the face ! Link to comment
bgelfand 1,236 Posted January 23, 2005 Nice, but I find the leaves a distraction rather than an enhancement. Of course, that is a matter of personal preference. It looks like the focus point is the nose not the eyes. Link to comment
lightwriting by swapan 0 Posted January 23, 2005 ...this was unplanned. I had some branches which I was planning to shoot for the colored leaves. they were in the basement, where my "studio"is. She just stood there, not very happy to be my model(see above). I liked the expression and just took one shot wide open ! The focus may very well be on the nose ! Link to comment
bgelfand 1,236 Posted January 23, 2005 I did not realize this was a candid photo. Since you gave the location as your studio, I assumed it was planned and posed. As a candid image, it is very good. Congratulations on capturing the moment - a moment due in no small part to your model. As you can see from my photos, I well understand the problems of trying to get 8-year-old "models" to cooperate.
