Just another artistic expression found in one of my smoke photos.

Your thoughts and commentary are welcomed. Thank you for taking the

time to let me know what you think.

I tried to shoot smoke before...failed.So I know you have to know "your stuff" to capture what you want.Great job on all the images.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at but it's interesting. Smoke perhaps? I like the composition, well balanced. It would be interesting to see this against a black background, recolorized.

For Bryce, and others...

Check the Technical Details box under Details for this image.

I have tried to anticipate these questions, but many(most?) never look at the details. To see this with a black background just save it and then convert to a "negative" image. VOILA!

Thank you for your kind words. I had a look at the image you attached and find it very interesting. I have been thinking about doing something of this sort. It looks like a viscous liquid such as honey. The composition is a bit too "busy" for my tastes, but is still a good shot.

Dave, good point about the details. -unfortunately I'm bumping into these images in the 'rate recent photos' section...as far as I can tell...the reviewer is limited in what they can see, no details are present. I suspect this is a limitation we all run up against. Any suggestions?

I did not think about the circumstances under which many images are rated, i.e. the Rate Recent Forum. This does make an "informed" rating somewhat dificult.

Personally, I think that ratings, as a criteria for positioning an image in the TRP lists should be eliminated and replaced with data derived from other criteria. Doing so would make it MUCH more dificult for anyone to abuse the system.

I suspect that I, like many others, "filter" the ratings and comments we receive. We consider Who gave the rating or comment, and weigh its value to us based on our perception of their competence and insight.

Thank you for your insights and interest.
