Albarracín is located in western Teruel (Spain)It takes its name from the independent islamic rulers, the Banu Razin (Hisn al Banu Razin). Following the Muslim invasion of the Spanish peninsula in 711, Albarrací® became an important military centre.

The town centre is surrounded by a defensive wall which was built at the top of a 1,171 m high rock. The town?s architecture is adapted to the terrain to make the most of building space and compensate for the irregularities of the ground.

The houses are tidy and well looked after. The town planning is attractive and we can find a characteristic architectural style of modest buildings made of wooden frameworks and reddish plaster walls (with locally made ironwork and wooden eaves) which give the town its characteristic colour.

The large fortified tower, the fortress and the water tower all date form this Islamic period (10th century). As a result of the ?fitna? which took place between 1009 and 1013, Albarrací® became the capital of the independent taifa ruled by the Ibn Razin. A silver essence bottle belonging to this dynasty has been preserved and is considered one of the most important examples of Hispanic-Muslim silverwork.

Exactamente has entendido mi intención de encuadre: tres dimensiones o planos, el primerísimo de la pradera seca, las casas rurales y la imponente muralla medieval.
