I clicked because it looked like one of my all black test images. But surprise very tiny dots of light. I am star struck but not star sure. Can anyone identify river Eridanus, or Orion's dogs Canis Major and Canis Minor. Very Steady Hands? or Tripod?

Ray, no steady hand during four seconds - a tripod did the trick. In the photo the main part of the constellation of Orion is standing up vertically. Thanks very much for your comments & appreciation. Cheers, Sam

Do you think there may be a benefit in cloning out the stars that are not in Orion? I don't know why but it seems to me it might be an improvement.

Um... what about ISO 1000 or more (if your camera doesn't make too much noise), tripod and thirty-second exposition? So there would be more stars visible? If you look at my portfolio, I'll upload my Orion somewhere soon. Maybe tomorrow. Anyway, it looks nice.

Nina, at the time of taking this photo the maximum ISO value of my camera was 400 only. Nowadays, cameras with much higher ISO values are available & give better quality images than with the older 400 ISO cameras. Yet, I was amazed that these stars got on the photo anyway. Thanks very much for your critique & appreciation. Cheers, Sam.
