Has so much potential but I think you need to reduce the brightness to bring the details of the landscape out. I am no expert, but it may be worth a try. DB

Thanks Ken and Terje for your comments.

Yes Ken, it was very, very cold that day. I was happy to be back home again after a long walk through a beautiful white snowy wood.

Hi Terje, I'm honoured you like my picture and even call it a dream or a painting, inspite it is in your opinion overexposed. And maybe it is, but really not through the sunlight (LOL). It was very misty that day. Maybe that's the reason.

Thank you Daniel for your nice comment. I gonna try out your advice. Hope I will succeed. I'm not sure because I'm still a relative beginner. I hope somebody can tell me what to do.

groetjes, Ada.

Taking pictures on a misty day is not easy as colours usually are very wash out. You have done nicely here, making it look almost like a painting. Nice artwork.

At first I really like it. Thought you altered it until I read that you have real snow. I`m still waiting for it (raining all the time). Great high key effect. I don`t think it`s overexposed but a bit more texture on the background trees would be good. Just let the wind blow the snow westwards over me ;-)

All the best, Edgar

Kim, thank you for visiting me. I should like to be able to show this picture larger, but I don't know how to do that. Upload my picture in a bigger format perhaps? I always take 680. I hope you or anybody else can tell me.

Thank you Pnina for your kind words. I couldn't wait till I was able to upload a new picture on PN. I still can't handle my camera yet, but I have enough pictures in stock.

Hi Cherlyn, it's not easy like you said, to make a nice shot in this circumstances. I'm not completely satisfied with this pic but as other people talk about painting and dreams, than I think it is still a good shot. Thank you very much for your kind comment.

Hallo Edgar, nice to have you here. Alas, but I can't send you the snow, because there was now snow here, only rain yesterday. So that was what I've sending eastwards to you.

This shot is from one month ago. I'm a bit handicapped at the moment. I have had a little operation at my hand (triggerfinger) so I can't make any pictures at the moment. But I'm able to operate my computer with my other hand and I've uploaded an oldy. I do that more often, particular with my self-portaits and nudes, they are even more older than only one month! (LOL).

Nice to hear you like my snowshot. I can not send you snow but I send you arid weather for tomorrow.

Best regards to all of you, Ada.

High key? Looks like a really fine work with exposure. As much light as there can be to make the cold feeling, but not too much to keep the tree tops visible. And I share the commendations about the tones and composition.

Dit is echt heel mooi Ada.

Prachtige compositie in pastel tinten.

Hi Detlef, I'm grateful you like my little wintershot too. It was cold, yes very cold that day. My fingers were nearly frozen, but I can't take pictures with handclothes on. Can you?;-)

Very happy to see you here, Andrey, and even more happy you are so enthusiastic about my shot. One question: can you discribe what you mean exactly with 'high key'? I can not find that expression in my dictionary.

As I understand, "high key" means that the image contains mostly light tones may be deliberately overexposed. The difference between "overexposed" and "high key" is that the latter is aesthetically attractive (contrast on important details is kept high enough), and the "overexposed" is just a meter failure (nothing to do with this photo of yours :).
