oswegophoto 1 Posted January 18, 2005 Yes, it's upside down. I originally took it to document the horrifying green algae bloom that actually made my local lake toxic for a while this summer, but I like it better this way. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 18, 2005 Very imaginative. This upside down version is very well portrayed, the trees look as if they are really there standing upright, instead of being a reflection. I like this. Link to comment
r_e 0 Posted January 18, 2005 CR: A picture of character! So the text is a fitting addition. REgards Link to comment
elly1664876496 0 Posted January 18, 2005 Nice work - so much of life and art is about perspective! Can I make a suggestion - you know I can't help myself! lol - I tried levelling out the "horizon" using the top half as my base image... I think (for me anyway) this enhances the illusion you;ve created. Let me know what you think? El Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted January 18, 2005 Cherlyn, thanks, you're too kind. No, really. 8-) R E, thanks for the CR! And a clevER pun, to boot? My word, you spoil me! Ellen, thanks for your spin. I did think about futzing with it, but then decided I like the "looming" feel they have this way, and (I know, it doesn't make sense) felt it was more honest just to flip it 180°. I like it your way, too. Link to comment
doug_stanley 0 Posted January 19, 2005 The shore line (horizon) bothers me. Also the green cast seems out of place. Would a gray cast have been better for the upper section? Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks for stopping by. If you come back this way again, please, scroll to the top (or click "Details") and read why the reflections are green. Except for flipping it over and adding the border, this photo is not manipulated: none of the colors in the image was chosen except in the ol' through-the-viewfinder method (proof that it can be all in your point of view). Best regards. Link to comment
doug_stanley 0 Posted January 20, 2005 You learn something every day. If you rate photos through the "Rate recent photos" on the Photo.net home page explaination like those you supplied with the posting do not show up. It explains the image. I would still have liked to see the shoreline closer to horizontal. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted January 21, 2005 Thanks for stopping by again! I sympathise; it's a bit of a hassle opening the photo with details in a new tab (or window) when I feel like there might already be an explanation for the thing I'm about to comment on, but I usually do it. 'Course, then I have to try not to be too swayed by clever titles, etc., like, say, Piper At the Gates of Dawn. Maybe I'll tweak this and upload that one too, since you and Ellen have good eyes (based on your portfolios). Then we can A/B 'em. 8-) Link to comment
r 0 Posted January 28, 2005 I get an orriental feel from this. Perhaps it's the twig, curling into the foreground sky. :) Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted March 12, 2005 The algaes bloom seems to paint this picture. I love the reflections here ! Reminds me of springs pollen that collects on the waters surface. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 13, 2007 I can't believe this! It's so creative. It took me like 2 minutes to figure it out (blonde moment) and I absolutely love it! Link to comment
