A small fun project of flying cats by W. Benard. I'd like to share the

result here with his permission.

Let me what you think, cheers,

May be that you are trying to do something very original here, but I do not like the PS (or digital manipulation) work here. Looks too fake for my taste - composition as mentioned in the last comment lacks too. What is the mission for the cat? Just curious (like the cat)...

Bill, cleaning noise on the wall should not be a problem. Although I saw it, it was not my priority. I think neat image is a bit aggresive but i can use it just for the wall to make it a lot smoother.

Arnab, thank you for the comment. I think anybody can take image of a cat flying in front of a wall, it would be natural, but to catch a unique pose, you have to fly the cat many times, i'd say at least 20 times. Not all natural images are interesting. This particular image is a 1 out of 10 selection. I added smoke to create an additional attraction. That may bother you but imho that's the mission of the image. Aren't you curious why the cat is flying?

Personally, I do not feel a picture of a cat in the air very satisfying, or intriguing by itself, unless it is one of 1000 selection or you are extremely lucky.

BTW, the part of the shadow of the cat was removed digitally, it was very distracting. Other than that this is essentially a single natural shot.

Mehmet, I have already accepted that you are trying to do something different. But my take on this will be that you are not there yet. May be there will be an interesting image that you will come up in the near future with this flying cat concept. Good luck with that. It's refreshing to see people trying to do different things - keep it up

I bet the cat is thrilled to learn how to fly...especially when there is no apparent reason. I did not rate your picture, but think that you should stop the lessons, unless you come up with something meaningful.

Borislav, I understand your concern. And I assure you that no cats were harmed in shooting this picture.

I find this photo both creative and interesting but I'm bothered by the whole cat tossing thing. I know you said "no cats were harmed". However, I'm sure the cat wasn't too happy to be tossed 20+ times for the purpose of this photo. You might encourage the cat to make the jump willingly by enticing it with food or a toy. It would make for a more natural position of the cat and a more believable photo. It might take extra effort but the result would be more satisfying to the viewer and less stressful for the cat. It's important to keep your models happy!

Being a multiple cat owner for 50 years I'm pretty sure that even though the cat got tired, and besides laying in the sun it was the highlite of his day.
