ewgrow 0 Posted January 13, 2005 thanks guys. I've been taking more Polaroids lately, as per your suggestion, Balaji. Good idea. You're right, I'm less inhibited with the 'roid. I think since there's less technical stuff to think about, there's less delay between my intuition and pushing the button. i.e. my brain doesn't get in the way. And since polaroids seem so disposable, there isn't any worry about whether it will be a good or bad shot. I need to approach my other stuff the same way, i think. Link to comment
andrew_lee2 0 Posted February 28, 2005 Might be the best of the bunch (although there are several strong ones). Very Wim Wenders-ish, are you familiar with either his photo books or his films (e.g., 'Paris, Texas?') Link to comment
dumpster001 1 Posted February 28, 2005 (e.g., 'Paris, Texas?') gawd i'd have written e.g., Wings of Desire. though, PT is no slouch either :-) Link to comment
ewgrow 0 Posted February 28, 2005 I'd have said "Alice in the Cities" :) Honestly though, you guys are good. Those are three of my favorite movies. But PT is probably my fave of the three, actually, so you were right on Andrew. Balaji, better luck next time, haha. So I knew Wenders was a still photographer, but I haven't really checked out his stuff much. Got any suggestions? BTW, I appreciate your comments, you guys are among the best here on pnet, no joke. dumpster001 1 Posted February 28, 2005 such poor taste, you two :DErik, i've glanced at a couple at barnes & noble. i think one's titled "once" and i forget the other, although i have to say i wasn't quite floored by his photos, as i was by his films.. and i've heard from a friend his book "on film : essays and conversations" is a good read, will have to check it out. ewgrow 0 Posted February 28, 2005 Sweetness. Thanks for the tip, Balaji. I'll have to check out that book too. Speaking of films, I just moved to Berkeley and discovered the awesomest video store I've ever seen just a few blocks from my apartment, so I'm gonna have to check out some more of Wenders's movies. That and I live within a block of four theatres. I'm in a movie buff's paradise. Link to comment
ewgrow 0 Posted May 24, 2008 There's no "Polaroid" section, so I'll put this here. Any comments/criticism welcome Link to comment
