Here's a shot that was taken on assignment in the western New York

hillcountry town of Andover. The photo was used to illustrate a

story about a large, unexplained exodus of area residents to, of all

places, The Bronx, in New York City. Your comments and critiques are

There really isn't anything special about this picture. With that said, there is something about it that I really like. I don't know what it is, but the more I look at it the more I like it. Even though I see that there really isn't anything special about it. Still don't know what it is.......

This image, I believe, tells your story much better than the woman in the parking lot. Its not particularly exciting--but that, after all, is the point. You've got a nice sort of vanishing point effect going on here, and you've been careful to keep your verticals straight. Nice job.

It does show, very effectively, that the world can be a lonely place, whether one is in a crowded city or on Main Street in a small town.
