Galaxie 500

oswegophoto

With TC16A 1.6x autofocus teleconverter, so effective focal length was 320mm. This is the full frame. I wished to be a bit farther off, but I was driving, never got a second shot.

Saw this car at a traffic light. Only had a few seconds, just grabbed my camera & snapped.

Camera had a 200mm lens and a 1.6x autofocus teleconverter mounted, so effective focal

length was 320mm. This is the full frame; I wished to be a bit farther off, but I was driving

& never got a second shot.

In the situation you described, the shot is next to impossible to get. Somehow, you managed to to a pretty decent job. Anyway, the car is a 63 or 64 Ford Galaxie 500. Based on the way the fender tends to wrap around the tail-light, it is most likely a 64.....am I right?

Hey! great shot considering the rush! The colours work really well together and the isolation of the tail light concentrates the shot. A friend is a fan of older US cars (a labour of love in the UK!) and has an Oldsmobile from the late 50's at the moment. I'm inspired by this to get a shot or two of it. regards - Colin

"Fortune favors the prepared." I think that comes from either The Boys Scout's Handbook or The Bible or maybe Sr. Mary Dolores in my 6th grade class at Star Of The Sea Grammer School.
