I think the photo is a bit dark and the color is a lost to some degree. Maybe wait until the sun is up a bit more in the sky and don't zoom in so close. This could have been a better photo with more sand in the background

Michael, thanks very much for your interesting critique. I could not wait till the sun was higher up as I shot this in the afternoon. I don't feel sand is very interesting, but I got your point. I zoomed in as close as possible to better show the innards of this creature. It's difficult to please all tastes & ideas, isn't it! Cheers, Sam.
