kslonaker 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I like the lighting that highlights the action of the water. Was this natural lighting or enhanced in PS? Either way, it's very appealing, Jerry. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted January 10, 2005 Kim, it's natural light (about 10 minutes before sunset). I did adjust the level a little bit to show some texture on the background rock. Link to comment
fausti 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Powerful image, well composed. Seems a little oversatured in color. Congrat Link to comment
manel_soria 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Impressive, excellent, I agree with Fausti, maybe a bit too saturated Link to comment
rinconesdecanarias 0 Posted January 10, 2005 Magnifica fotografia, la luz es bella y la escena impresionante.Un saludo Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted January 10, 2005 Fausti, Manel and Pedro for your comments. The color shown on the picture is the actual color. Here is one that I decrease the saturation for 25% in PS. Link to comment
manel_soria 0 Posted January 10, 2005 The color is amazing. I'm sure it was a magic moment. Regards, thanks for posting the other version. Link to comment
benjamin.portraiture 0 Posted January 12, 2005 Hmmm. When the photographer's notes say he shot with Fuji Velvia I never see these "oversaturated" comments.... Nice shot, well timed to catch both the spray and backwash in the foreground. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted January 12, 2005 Carlos, thanks for the comments and I agree with your point about the saturated colors. Maybe next time I should take the same shot with Velvia and see what will it look like. Link to comment
manel_soria 0 Posted January 12, 2005 Jerry, Please don't missunderstand me, your photo is excellent, its just that the red is really very impressive. I'm not at all a detractor of digital methods. If you want to see an oversaturated velvia photo to illustrate your point, I myself have one: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3007613 This yellow is totally unreal. Link to comment
fausti 0 Posted January 13, 2005 Thinking about this discussion, I can remember this "satured" colors in live, at several sunsets. Maybe we are not used to see it as a picture. But I keep saying that it's a great shot! Regards Link to comment
christiankiely 0 Posted January 14, 2005 I do like this shot, but I would prefer to see more DOF with the foreground rocks in focus. The smaller aperture would obviously have shutter speed implications and perhaps would take away from the drama of the scene. Anyway, that's the beauty of digital... to be able to see it "live" and shoot things different ways. Nice work. Link to comment
