Making a fast dash across the Alps before some bad weather and

nightfall. This is a view of one of the resevoirs constructed near the

Grossglockner along the Hochalpenstrasse. Comments, constructive

suggestions, and ratings are invited. Thank you.

Thank you Steven for the comment. I was going to crop this square and cut out a lot of the sky. But I decided to leave it this way. If by "unnatural" you mean unusual, then I would agree with you. About 45 minutes later, as we continued into higher elevations, we were enveloped by these clouds. It made for an interesting but nervous descent along the northern slopes. Regards.

Composition and colour look good. I love driving in the mountains of Austria and Switzerland! The Hills are Alive.....

Gorgeous scene! It's interesting that you chose a portrait format for a landscape. It works well here ... especially with the sky ... the clouds are great!

It is interesting how the clouds have a diagonal line parallel to the forground, it is ballancing very well the composition. Well captured Walter.Pnina

Walter, is that purple color at the base of the mountains how they looked?? How cool! I love the clouds and the green in the foreground makes the shot. The green part and the clouds both make a diagonal that frames the mountains, making for a well balanced composition.

Brings back memories: As a callow(and foolish) youth in 1956 I pedalled across these heights with gusto - I sure couldn't do it now ! Lovely shot , Walter, and thanks for the memories!
