giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted January 8, 2005 really a very nice realization. Expecially the foreground is well detailed and helps the onlookers move from the bottom to the river. Another point of interest is the presence of low clouds near the mountais (very well detached) and the suggestion of a dawn (or a dusk) given by the orange sky. Thus the composition is really well done as you can move bottom-up in the frame and explore it at a glance. Color is very well balanced and the level of details adeguate, they immediately give the perception of cold. very well done.regardsgiuseppe Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 8, 2005 The composition of this is superb. I also like the color, and the idea that it could be sunset or sunrise, but either way - it's cold Warm too though, which is a nice side effect. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted January 8, 2005 Excellent composition, great detail and DOF, and magic scenery with great colours. Nothing to improve IMO Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 8, 2005 I love the way the colors start off in the foreground, then fade to neutral halfway up. Nice lighting again and another good one for your portfolio. Link to comment

stephengalea 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Dave wht a place and wht sunrise moments...Really awesome. I find image to be technically very good, maybe less foreground and slight more clouds... 7/7 Great work...Keep up the good work dave, your wonderful and one of the greatest for these landscapes... __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just wondering why one could rate this image very low....and not leaving a simple critqiue, maybe for improvement... http://www.photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=910431 _________________________________________________ http://www.photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=1037909 Link to comment

guyscrivner 0 Posted February 3, 2005 Superb image. I like the graduation of colors from foreground to background. You have really captured the feel of this spot and time. Link to comment
velter 0 Posted November 10, 2006 The colors are grey, brown and depressing. The little bit of yellow is smothered by an ugly cloud and the foreground looks like as if it was added on. I would not hang this picture in my lounge. But that?s just my opinion of course. I saw your other work and I like it. This one you need to put right at the end of your collection. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted November 10, 2006 The foreground rock is nicely sharp and has a nice texture and tones, but there is too much of it, taking about 40% of the picture area, and the separation between it and the land below is not very clear - on the left they almost merge. It makes the pic look kinda flat. I like the character of the land bellow. The cloud is kinda depressing, but it contrasts the yellow light nicely. Because of the flat-and-too-much foreground, I would give this photo 5 out of 7 points. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
dougsmiley 0 Posted August 2, 2007 yet another one of the superwides with water, rocks, sky and amazin' depth o field! Link to comment
edith_frederick 0 Posted August 3, 2007 Dave, I admire the expressiveness of your luminous, limited palette here -- and your sinuous composition flowing around the rocks to the right. For me the detailed foreground of spalling rock is a perfect entry and illustrates the geo dynamics moving through this landscape with wet/dry and freeze/thaw. The cloud layers floating over the waterline are a nice counterpoint to the anchoring rock. 7/7 Link to comment
