"Smokey Colorspace" - A Negative Smoke Photo

Please let me know how you like this variety of presentation as

opposed to the "straight" version without the color inversion. As you

can see from my portfolio, I have prefered the black background, but

many seem to like this style better.

 

As a side note... I find this format MUCH easier to print. The black

background can be a challenge to print without digital "noise."

 

Please consider your comments and ratings as an informal survey on

Very nice. I saved it as a 256 colour bitmap instaed of a 24 bit one. I like the effect doing that sometimes gives, but you might not think its appropriate in this case.

Chris, Although the 8 bit version does add some "texture" that is interesting, I don't think it conveys the vapid and aetherial quality of smoke.

 

However... Beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder. If you like it then that's all that matters; to you.

 

I am pleased when you, and others, take the time to experiment with my images. I make these images for others to enjoy and to possibily stimulate them to try new ideas in their own work. The arts and literature give us a peek into the mind of another person from which we can gain a new perspective and perhaps inspiration.

 

I did not invent the idea of photographing smoke. But, the smoke photos of others inspired me to try my hand and see if I could add my own creative vision to the subject. I'm having fun with it. I hope that others are as well.
