Alcaraz is a very interesting city to visit due to its historic andartistic richness. It lies 81 km. to the sout west of Albacete city,on the N-322 to Andalusia.

The ancient Hisn al-Karas of the arabswas given to the knights of saint Jacques after its fall from muslimhands. Due to its important and strategic situation it was attacked bydifferent christian noblemen and changed hands many times until itfell prey to the greedy hands of the Marquess of Villena, cultured andcruel feudal overlord. The Catholic Kings decided to take the cityfrom this unruly noble and kept it under royal possession after thecity revolted against Villena.

The famous architect André³Vandelvira was born in Alcaraz, where he is very influent. Te visitstarts in one of the most beautiful renaissance monuments from the XVIcentury in the province of Albacete: the Plaza Mayor (main square). This main square is surrounded by other beautiful buildings from thesame period, such as the Tardn and Trinidad Towers (which belong tothe church with the same name).

To the south of the village, tourists will find La lonja del Corregidor (the major marketplace),built in 1518 (XVI century) by Juan Echevarrí¡¬ and improved in theXVII century. La lonja del Ahorí ¯ del Ayuntamiento (Ahorí ¯r TownCouncil marketplace) is in the north part of the square and La lonjade Regaterí¡ (Reglaterí¡ marketplace) is in the west part of thesquare. Next to La lonja de Regaterí¡ the Arco de la Zapaterí¡ (ShoeStore Arch) and the Casa de la Carnicerí¡ (Butcher?s shop house) arelocated, both date from the XVI century.

Needs more depth of field. Since there are no subjects in photo, why not use a tripod and close the aperture all the way down to f/22? WOULD have been a great shot, using f/22 and shooting in hyperfocal focus.

Thanks for the information and sharing you picture. Nicely composed. Perfect exposure...

Happy new year and best of luck for the years to come.

Kindest regards.

I did used a tripod (I always do). I chose to shoot at f8 because the neatness of the image is greater than with the lens stopped down toits limit (specially that Cosina 19-35mm I used, which is far from being a good lens).

Seeking great DOF, as I always am, I decided to place those rocks in the foreground.
