michaelg 0 Posted January 3, 2005 Nice idea, high lights seem to be blown out though. Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted January 3, 2005 I like the angle of the shot. Colors are good with a nice background. My only nit is that the focus seems to be a little sharper on the sweater sleeve and foreground hair than on her face. Other than that, nice one! Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted January 4, 2005 The angle feels very child-like, evoking repose and whimsy at once. Nice shot! Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted January 4, 2005 Creativity in portraiture is hard to come by, and this is a more original one. More sharpness & highlight detail would be great, but then again being a playful pose, it's the spontaneous glimpse that counts, IMO. I like it. ^_^ Link to comment

afterthoughts 0 Posted January 4, 2005 I sharpened the image and changed the frame. Thanks for the input. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted January 4, 2005 I didn't see it before you sharpened, it looks fine to me. I love the whimsical pose. Very, very creative. Nice job! Link to comment
home page1 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I can definitely tell that you sharpened her face and I think it's an improvement. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 5, 2005 I like this, too, Howard - nice expression and different angle. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted January 5, 2005 Different angle, nice colors, your portraits are always giving some of the Character photographed. Don't pay attention to the low raters Howard, your creating values are not going to be affected by them. Pnina Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted January 5, 2005 Funny potrait, maybe a bit to sharp. (I have seen some are thinking different, but for a young girls face its getting to unreal, softness is gone. It is not a formal but a content question) Happy 2005, Mike Link to comment
return_visit 0 Posted January 9, 2005 Fairly trivial, but the angle and pose seem a bit "stilted"? Perhaps a little too extreme of an angle for your subject? Discovered this little gem, an exception to most of what I have been seeing of your work on this site. When looking at most of your portraits, I see that you are often times able to capture that "slice of life" that seems so hard-fought and illusive to capture. I feel like this piece is a little more superficial, that you're not really telling us a lot more about this young lady. And that's okay, but I don't find this piece contains the depth and illumination that much of your work illustrates. Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Howard it seems that I am old enough to make a mistake, sorry for calling you Paul. Yours, Mike Link to comment
