Phil_Light 795 Posted January 3, 2005 A combination of three different images from three decades. Kind of holds the feeling of things lost or just gone over the horizon. In the end I think it illustrates a sense of timelessness? Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted January 6, 2005 Interesting! Can you post the 3 images or at least describe them? Link to comment
Phil_Light 795 Posted January 8, 2005 Primary image is the shattered window. Secondary was the grass/weeds layer underneath the window and the third layer is a woman's backside on the beach with the sea and horizon distant. Her right arm is up and arches over the top of her head with just her hand visible on the back of her head. Link to comment

j_doyle 0 Posted February 17, 2005 This is an amazing piece of work! It carries the emotional impact of a punch in the gut...or heart. It tugs and won't let go. It pulled me in, made me need to know what I was looking at at the same time I was almost fearful of figuring it out. And after reading your description of what the 3 layers are, it makes this image even more poignant. Wonderful work! Link to comment
Phil_Light 795 Posted February 18, 2005 This has always been a favorite of mine and I feel somewhat vindicated in my own taste in the way that this image is starting to be received. I may be too close to the image to really truly take constructive criticism on it, but then again my emotional investment is still deeply felt. I think that like music, photography that has the most relevance to us, those that seem to mean the most to us, are the pieces that make some sort of emotional connection with us. These are the very images that resonate through to the depths of us. Thanks again for your appreciative comments. Link to comment
