Yes, Ada. The same little character. This was shot in B&W and not converted. Not very original, but this is what the parents wanted. Thanks, as always, for your comments

really nice expression, great isolation of the subject, upward tilt helps the eyes to really stand out, red filter look in b+w conversion (?) a good choice for kids. like it a lot.

No, no conversion. It was taken with Portra B&W film. Tweaked in red channel

those channels are great, aren't they? i also recently used the lightness channel in lab color for something; it was similar to red channel, but had a little broader range of tones. copied it and pasted it as a layer into a photo. check it out sometime.

Thanks, I will. After selecting and adjusting the curves a bit, I, sometimes will tweak slightly in monochrome channel mixer

What a nice, bright outlook on life, Ken. I was thinking at first that this was done with the D100, but I see that it is with the F100.

 

Since my film work is consistently better than my digital work (although rarely posted here), can I ask you what you do for scanning? I just can't seem to get clean scans like this.
