see_lim_lim 0 Posted December 30, 2004 Stunner! Would have been nice to get all the brancehes above the horizon, but I can see you would have lost the position of the moon. Link to comment
erikadams 0 Posted December 31, 2004 Very nicephoto, but the slant of the horizon is very distracting. Exposure issues are very difficult in a photo like this. Ideally, the details in the moon would be more visible, but this would require an exposure of about sunny f16 plus a couple of stops, which would have severely underexposed the landscape. Taking the photo a few minutes earlier, when the light is brighter, means less red hue. The only solution I have ever seen is taking two different digital exposures from exactly the same position, one for the moon and the other for the landscape. An academic point, and I don't intend for it to detact from the beauty of your photo. It's very enjoyable. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted December 31, 2004 I like the image, agree with comments on the horizon and have tried ND filters with these types of exposures, ending up with images that look like an ND filter was used.... Link to comment
