cghubbell 0 Posted January 3, 2005 I've been working on animal portraits recently. This is my parent's cat Wilson, a gregarious grey male. Lighting was from a table lamp above and to the left. Camera was braced on the couch arm for a long exposure. Your thoughts and comments are appreciated. Link to comment
trueperceptionsp.o. 0 Posted February 14, 2005 I wanted to thank you for your kind words regarding my dog's picture and taking the time to compare it to my other photos. The one thing I find to be the problem with pets is their eyes. If you don't have the lighting just right they light up like crazy. Thanks again and keep up the good work on doing pets. There are a lot of pet lovers out there and you could make extra cash with your nice photos. Link to comment
cghubbell 0 Posted February 14, 2005 Yes, the lighting is a challenge... Especially in older animals as they tend to have more of the cataract / glossing effect. In this shot I had subtle ambient lighting, and a strong lighting from behind and above, but very little that could illuminate the cat's eyes beyond simple catch lighting. Thanks for your comments!
