Ah Paul, nothing on the left is in focus. Nice lines on the left but can you crop out the stick? As for the black and white background, was that intentional? I don't get it.

Well....this is an actual photo...in other words, there is no manipulation in the strict sense (apart from the white balance correction and cropping)...whether the left should be in focus or not is the dilemma. Given the theme I've chosen for this, I would argue that the left should be as it is..but of course I am probably wrong! The black and white backround is deliberate: I was looking for juxtaposition..hence the title...does that help? probably not....:-( but thanks for your thoughts!

The whole photo looks blurry (?)

Paul I just love it , as it is. You wanted to create a contrast it is done by the background colour difference and the focus. I think lot of photographers on the photo.net do not appreciate the creative photography. And creative photography is what makes us unique. Please, do not change anything. (6/7) cheers jana
