aepelbacher 0 Posted December 28, 2004 Actually, I'm relatively content with this one. The haze on the mountain tops doesn't bother me. I think that the rocks in the foreground add interest. The greens and blues are what make me smile ... as well as the interest added in the detail that you can catch in the trees. The pilot was saying something like we were at 9,000 feet altitude ... and I know that these mountains are something close to that ... therefore I figure that we were basically just clearing the tops of those trees with the wheels of the plane. (Sorry, Kim ... don't want to make you queasy!!) I know it's not a landscape like Vincent's or Dave K's ... but I'm content with this. What do you think? Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted December 28, 2004 IMHO this is one of the best in the series. Great contrast and detail. I bet those rocks are bigger than they look. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted December 28, 2004 Yeah, I agree about the sizes of the rocks, Howard. In fact, if you look at the tree in the very front and just a tiny bit to the right of center, you'll see it's an average fir tree. That gives you an idea of the proportions. The rocks are rather large ... might be a fun hike! :-) Link to comment

colin carron 58,916 Posted December 29, 2004 The diagonal of the valley works well. And great rocks! I see you have used the 50mm for all these shots so far. Did you try any longer lenses? I seem to remember from trips in small planes that there was a bit of vibration so that would tend to make them difficult to use. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted December 29, 2004 I have trouble holding my long lens still while I am standing or sitting with my arms propped against a stationery object. I'd never make a surgeon!! :-) I actually used the 50mm lens because it was next to impossible to be flipping in and out lenses, etc. The 50mm lens was, in my opinion, my best option. Wouldn't it have been nice for the plane to stand still while I made a choice amongst lenses? :-) Link to comment
