South Jetty

robertbrown

Big waves and decent light--this jetty helps protect shipping coming over the bar and up the Columbia River. Even with the jetties, this is still the most dangerous bar in the world

For me, the tan tones were a pleasant suprise. Brings a different perspective to a normally blue/green shot. Nice job.

I love the Oregon coast. Wonderful capture, action to the left and the jetty takes me to the light. I too like the soft color tones. Wish I was there.

Nicely captured scene! As stated by others, the muted tones are a nice change. The placement of the jetty in the frame is well chosen. I like the way it divides the frame and pulls the eye all the way to the horizon. The contrast in "mood" between the left and right sides of the frame keeps my interest. I also like the variety of textures that can be found in the rocks, surf, grasses, sand and sky. I'm intrigued by the pilings on the right of the jetty. I'm wondering what purpose they serve. I'm also wishing I could shoot them. I see several compositions I would love to try.

Your comment on my very ordinary picture drew me to your portfolio which I have seen only partially so far. Stupendous work, Robert. Your pictures are out of the ordinary -- they are masterpieces that lend you a distinct identity. Ratings are irrelevant here. Regards.
