Guest Guest Posted December 22, 2004 Beautiful light. I think the photo's impact would be greater, though, if it concentrated on just one curving sand-ridge, and didn't divide the viewer's attention between two. But my main reservation is a 'painted look' about it. Not sure I like it. Link to comment

PeterKrenek 26 Posted December 24, 2004 Beautiful scene, well captured, Dionys. I agree with John Milkbank about the painted look, though. By chance, did you use Neat Image or a similar noise reduction software ? Best wishes, Peter Link to comment

PeterKrenek 26 Posted February 11, 2005 I do not think you should, not at all. I asked about Neat Image because I had the experience that on some images it creates a painted look as noted above. This happens especially if the noise pattern is similar e.g. to some finely structured areas, like sand, dust, stone wall etc. Then, during noise reduction they get an artificial look. On a second though, here, the special look could be due to the fact that the sand has been shot from quite a large distance, as well as due to JPEG conversion process. Regards, Peter Link to comment
