Whales at Karekare 1

Just interested in thoughts on the composition really... this photos

is from 12 sperm whales that had washed up at Karekare Beach, NZ at

the beginning of 2004... Thanks

Composition is fine. Subject is quite sad.

I don't imagine that anyone would be happy about something like this - it is a sad subject... although I am glad that I did get the chance document it as this is a once in a lifetime occurance (I am hoping there will be no more).

There is dignity in death. I hope you got some closer shots and will share them with us.

The composition would be suitable for a landscape category picture. For a new/journalism picture I feel it lacks clarity. It is not immediately clear what is it in the picture. It is a nice picture but it would not be printed in a newspaper.
