jerry ting 1 Posted December 16, 2004 Among all three shots I like this one the most. The exposure is right on and the color tone is simply appealing. Congrats! Link to comment
stp 6 Posted December 17, 2004 Great shot, great light; I especially like the tone density of the ducks compared to the rest of the scene. Only thing I'd like to change is to not have the two ducks in the center lined up vertically; I think it would be more aesthetically pleasing to have them staggered.....let one swim left or right about two feet. wilsontsoi 0 Posted December 17, 2004 The magnificent light carries this a long, long way. Kudos for non-manip, coz has it been allowed, perhaps re-arrange so two birds don't line up perfectly horizontal. Still, awesome in my book. ^_^ Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 17, 2004 The light is simply divine David, the partly seen trees are very beautiful, I agree with Wilson( Hi Wilson!) about the horizontal birds( I would have cloned the middle one in the back line ), but a beauty never the less.7/6 Pnina Link to comment
Coho 2 Posted December 17, 2004 Thank you all for your gracious comments. So much of fine photography is being in the right place at the right time (with a camera) and luck. In this case, all the elements were there, except for the duck. While it is hunting season here in the Pacific Northwest, I would have to say the best images are those which are unmanipulated. It is nice to think about "what could have been", after the fact, a task easily performed with Photoshop; to me, there is more honesty in an unmanipulated image. Perhaps I am a purist, and yes, I do post manipulated images, but I prefer those where what you see was really there. Link to comment

Coho 2 Posted December 18, 2004 No filters used but I did use Fred Miranda Velvia Vision 1.1 to adjust colour balance and saturation. Link to comment
